We searched for months for the right loft bed for my teen son’s bedroom. This one ended up being perfect. So many of the loft beds with desk have a very narrow desk area but his one is a really nice depth. The adjustable shelf for the monitors is great for keeping more desk space clear or you can leave it off (which is what we did), haven’t decided how we want to place the monitors yet but it’s great to have options! I love the black metal with wood accents, it fits perfectly in his room. I also love that most of the runs on the ladder are attached to the shelves for a more comfortable climb and the gap at the top of the ladder helps make it easier to get into the bed without having to also climb over more framing. Portions of the build required 2 people and it did take about 3 hours to put together but well worth the time. I also love that it is reversible so you can have the ladder on the desired side to fit the needs of your room. Very sturdy and sleek. One note to mention is that the slats are about 5″ apart so you will need a bunkie board or some type of platform to put underneath your mattress for more support.

These loft beds are nice, especially for the price. The desk surface is much nicer than I expected and the assembly is pretty straight forward (Allen wrench hell, but straight forward). I purchased two of these beds, one for each kid. The reason I docked 2 stars is because you MUST purchase some high quality, STRONG wall anchors. Without them, this bed is absolutely a death trap. I’m 6’ tall and almost 200lbs. When I climb the ladder slowly and calmly the bed comes very VERY close to tipping over. All it would take is an excited kid to scurry up the ladder and the entire structure will come down on top of them. Make sure you anchor into studs with something around 400lb capacity (at least). It would be so easy for a seller to include anchors but they haven’t. And for that reason I can’t give it more than 3 stars.
